Pressure transducers convert process pressure into a proportional electrical signal using a welded 316L stainless steel diaphragm and silicon piezoresistive cell. A Sensor That Turns Pressure Into a Signal Your Machine Can Read
Inside every PRESS SPEC transducer, process pressure deflects a welded 316L stainless steel diaphragm. That deflection changes the resistance of a silicon piezoresistive bridge, which is amplified and temperature-compensated into a clean 4–20 mA, 0–10 V or 0–5 V signal — proportional to the applied pressure, ready for a PLC, controller or DAQ card.
Because the diaphragm is welded and hermetically sealed, there are no O-rings or moving parts to leak or wear — the reason strain-gauge transducers are the default choice for hydraulics, water lines, compressors and OEM machines.

Questions Buyers Ask
What is the difference between a pressure transducer and a pressure transmitter?
A pressure transducer converts pressure into an electrical signal (voltage or current) — it is the sensing element plus amplification. A transmitter adds loop power, signal conditioning and digital communication such as HART or RS485, which is why transmitters are preferred for plant-wide monitoring. Which output should I choose — 4–20 mA, 0–10 V or RS485?
Choose 4–20 mA two-wire for long cable runs, noisy environments and standard PLC analog cards — the loop is immune to voltage drop. Choose 0–10 V / 0–5 V for short machine-internal runs to DAQ or drive cards. Choose RS485 Modbus when you need digital values, multi-device bussing or remote configuration.
What pressure ranges are available?
Standard spans run from 0–0.1 MPa to 0–40 MPa on the PT100 series, extendable to 0–60 MPa on the PT200. If your working point sits between standard spans, send us the span and we configure the cell and calibration at the factory.
Which process connection do I need — G1/4, 1/4NPT or M20×1.5?
Match the thread to your manifold or valve port. G1/4 (BSP) and M20×1.5 are common in European and Asian equipment, while 1/4NPT dominates North American loops. All three are stock, and other threads are available on request.
Are these transducers suitable for liquids, gases and steam?
The 316L stainless steel diaphragm handles water, hydraulic oil, compressed air and inert gases directly. For aggressive chemicals choose the PT200 with Hastelloy diaphragm; for viscous or sanitary media choose the PT400 flush diaphragm.
How long do pressure transducers last?
There are no moving parts — the main wear factors are media compatibility, overpressure events and temperature extremes. Specifying the right range, thread and wetted material up front is what maximizes service life, and every unit carries a 12-month warranty.
