What is the difference between a pressure transducer, transmitter and sensor?
A pressure sensor is the raw sensing element (diaphragm + strain gauge or ceramic cell) that outputs a millivolt signal. A pressure transducer adds signal conditioning and outputs a ready-to-use signal such as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V. A pressure transmitter is a transducer with a rugged housing, long-range transmission capability and often a display and local zero/span adjustment. For industrial machine and plant applications you are usually buying a transducer or transmitter.
What pressure range do I need?
The general rule: choose a range where your normal operating pressure sits between 25% and 75% of full scale. That keeps accuracy in the sweet spot and leaves headroom for surges. If your process runs at 5 MPa, a 0-10 MPa or 0-16 MPa transducer is a better choice than one rated 0-6 MPa. We supply ranges from 0-0.1 MPa up to 0-40 MPa, plus vacuum and compound ranges.
Which output signal should I choose — 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, or digital?
4-20 mA two-wire is the industrial standard: it is immune to voltage drop over long cable runs, works with most PLC/SCADA inputs and gives free wire-break detection (loop current falls to 0). 0-10 V suits short runs and some controllers. RS485/Modbus and HART add digital communication for configuration and diagnostics. If in doubt for a process plant, choose 4-20 mA.
What accuracy class do I actually need?
For most industrial monitoring and control, 0.5% FS is more than adequate. For custody transfer, laboratory or precision test applications, 0.25% or 0.1% FS is justified. Higher accuracy costs more and can be more sensitive to temperature — buying 0.1% for a ±2% control loop is over-specification. Send us your requirement and we will match it.
What is the difference between gauge, absolute and differential pressure?
Gauge pressure (most common) measures against atmospheric pressure — suitable for tanks, pipes and hydraulic systems. Absolute pressure measures against a vacuum reference, used for altitude, vacuum and barometric applications. Differential pressure measures the difference between two points, used for filter monitoring, flow measurement (orifice plates) and level measurement in open/closed vessels.
Can I use a pressure transducer with corrosive or viscous media?
Yes — with the right wetted materials. For corrosive liquids and gases we offer 316L stainless steel or Hastelloy wetted parts, or ceramic cells for aggressive media. For viscous, slurry or food products, choose a flush diaphragm design (like our PT400) so media cannot clog the pressure port. Tell us the media and we will confirm compatibility.
Do you support OEM / ODM projects?
Yes. We custom-build ranges, outputs (4-20mA / 0-10V / RS485 / HART), process connections, housings and cable configurations. The process is clear: spec review → sample → small batch → mass production, with private-label branding supported. MOQ for OEM projects is 100 pcs.
What is your minimum order quantity and lead time?
Standard transducers: samples welcome, MOQ from 10 pcs for volume pricing. Custom OEM projects: MOQ 100 pcs. Lead time is 7-15 days for standard items and 15-25 days for custom OEM orders depending on quantity and configuration.
What certifications do your transducers have?
Our standard range is CE marked. Explosion-proof (Ex d / Intrinsically safe) versions are available for hazardous areas. We can also prepare calibration certificates and material certificates per order. Tell us which certification your project requires and we will quote accordingly.
What payment methods do you accept?
T/T, L/C and PayPal for standard orders. For OEM projects we typically work with T/T (30% deposit, balance before shipment) or L/C at sight.
