Why choose a flush diaphragm transducer over a standard pressure port?
With a standard port the pressure tap fills with process media; for viscous, fibrous or pasty products that pocket can solidify, clog or trap bacteria. A flush diaphragm puts the sensing face directly in the flow, so there is no dead volume to clog and cleaning is complete — this is why sanitary industries standardize on flush designs.
Which Tri-clamp sizes are available?
DN25, DN32, DN40 and DN50 (1" to 2") Tri-clamp fittings are standard, with other sanitary connections such as DIN 11851 or RJT available on request. Confirm your line size when ordering so we ship the matching clamp adapter.
Can the PT400 handle CIP/SIP cleaning cycles?
Yes — the sealed IP67 electronics and welded flush cell tolerate the temperatures and chemicals of typical clean-in-place and steam-in-place cycles. Check the high-temperature option if your SIP cycles exceed 120 °C.
Is the PT400 suitable for polymer extrusion pressure?
Yes. The flush face and 316L construction handle polymer melts without port plugging. Specify your melt temperature and range; for extreme extrusion duty we can discuss fill-fluid-free designs suited to your process.
What output should I use with my PLC?
4–20 mA is the most common for food and pharma PLC loops over moderate distances. If your line already uses digital fieldbus, RS485 Modbus-RTU lets you daisy-chain multiple PT400 units. Voltage output suits short runs to local displays or controllers.
